and i live in southern california
about 30 to 45 min away from SWC del mar
(cant wait)
but i love it here....we basically have everything....
you can go one way n u have the beach
another way, the desert, another way, the mountains,
which includes beautiful scenery....
another way, the citie....
i love it....
not to mention.....concerts ALL the time...
plus....we have disney land(wich i dont like very much
but am excited to go their for grad night..yay graduation)
and six flags, knots, raging waters (which reminds me..
thats open now...gotta go)
so how can u not like it??

lol, why don't i like it? for almost every reason you listed!!

i live in North Carolina, i can get mountains, the beach, the country, all very pretty, but the mountains of the west are very different from the Great Smokies.

basically, i like the "old and out-dated way of life", dont like being near conveniences like nice malls within 20 minutes from me (or some places, 5 malls, 5 minutes away. lol!)

in Danville, the two best places to shop are the mall and Wal-Mart, and the mall has as many shops as ticks in a nest, but they're mostly electronics and such - the best thing we got is American Eagle (woo!).

to get better shops we have to go at least an hour out, but i like it, because you dont get out much to go shopping ( i haaaaaaaaaate shopping) and you're more back-woods so you dont have as much disturbances.

i can see how people would like being near cities though. i just dont. people now-a-days want things as fast as possible, and a little more. i wish i didnt even have as many conveniences as i have now (screw internet, i hate computers)

yep, straight across america from you.

it's very quaint here. the small town life is more than a cute idea, it's just the way it is here.
little gas stations placed every 2 miles (or less!), where no shoes and no shirt aint no problem
kids are outside playing rather than inside on the x-box (though we got those too)
people driving by wave and stop to say hi
cookouts every weekend are when families get together
fried chicken every sunday is tradition
people usually aren't too busy to stop in for iced (sweet) tea and some idle chatter
4-wheelers are as common as pets (and sometimes better treated)
and pickups are "the hot ride" here

i love it

i can tell you really
love living there.....
thats cool.....
it sounds really nice....
who knows....
i might even move somewere like that
one day...
but not any time soon....lol
